Building sites the latest target of criminals
Building sites appear to be the latest target of criminals in Dunedin, with goods being stolen from the unoccupied properties.
Police say there have been half a dozen reported thefts from building sites since September, and probably more unreported.
The most recent was an incident yesterday, when a plasma TV and range hood were stolen from a Helensburgh home under construction.
Other items taken include builders' tools and building materials.
Police plan to work with industry groups to deal with the issue.
They have also called on the public to keep an eye on building sites in their area.
