MP says expected job losses the sort of roles most needed
Dunedin South Labour MP Clare Curran says expected job losses at Telecom will be the sort of roles New Zealand's economy needs most.
Telecom has indicated hundreds of workers are set to lose their jobs.
The company's half-year earnings report showed an 8.5% dip in revenue.
Curran says permanent, high-paid, high-skilled positions will be lost from the company.
Labour's Communications and IT spokeswoman says those are the sort of jobs the economy needs more of, not less.
