Symposium considers survival in extreme environments
Some people love the challenge of climbing the world's tallest mountains, trekking over desert sands, or diving into a deep lake.
Some of us have even wondered what it would be like to go to space.
These are all considered extreme environments and often we are advised on how best to survive in them.
A symposium at the University of Otago is discussing whether or not people really do need to be told what to do when they're moving in those extreme environments.
