There is good and bad news for local skilled workers, with changes at Bradken and Invermay.

Six foundry workers are being let go at Bradken in the latest staff cull.

That brings the number of Hillside workers to about 50, with the city losing almost 200 foundry-based staff in recent years.

But AgResearch is delaying the move of its Invermay scientists to Lincoln.

Dozens of staff are in line to be shifted north in the state-owned organisation's restructure, which has been put off one year, to the end of 2018.
